The META Series MBM-2 Sustainiac Signature Guitar featuring the same Sustainiac Sustainer pickup and circuit as used by Matthew Bellamy, live and in the studio. The META version is our lower price point instrument that delivers a whole new playing and ownership experience for the Manson Guitar Works player. Produced under licence with Cort, it has now been further modified and developed to reflect more closely the body shape of the MB custom signature guitars played on stage with MUSE.
The body shape is freshly contoured and by popular demand, returns in our classic Dry Satin Black finish. The Sustainer system, powered by a 9-volt battery, allows the user to create endless sustained notes at the flick of a switch. Three unique modes give fundamental, harmonic or a special blend of harmonics and tones for a new expression in guitar playing. When not in use as a sustainer the neck pickup reverts to a clear, active full range neck pickup that can be combined with the existing passive bridge pickup. A kill-button allows stutter style effects in regular mode but comes a real sonic weapon when used in conjunction with the sustain modes.
Hardware is chrome finished and features staggered locking tuners for quick string changes and the elimination of a traditional string tree.
The basswood body combines light weight with a neutral tonal balance. The bolt-on neck design features a hard maple construction with an Indian laurel fingerboard. The satin finish neck feels played in from day one and features a compound radius and a soft V profile.
